Reclaimed water users asked to limit irrigation

Pinellas County officials ask reclaimed water users in Palm Harbor, Crystal Beach, Ozona and parts of East Lake to immediately limit irrigation of lawns and landscaping. Due to dry conditions, there has been a dramatic increase in reclaimed water use and the county's system is being stressed beyond its limit. The Borad would like to extend to allour volunteers our most sincere thanks for stepping up and making this community better. We have accomplished so much in the last 6 - 12 months, but we have so much more to do! We have laid new sod at the south entrance - I apologize to the residents who thought we had let it die and planned to do nothing about it. In reality, we applied 2 treatments of herbicide to ensure no weeds pop up. Unfortunately, it dictated that the area not look good for those weeks.

We have our new drip line irrigation system in the grove delivering much needed water directly to the base of each citrus tree. Our lawn tech, Andy Franek, expertly installed the new system and is ensuring it's 100% operational.

With the hurricane season upon up, homeowner's may want to consider trimming their trees to prevent damage from high winds. There are good deals to be had with tree trimming companies - I finally got around to removing the 2 mature carrotwood trees on my property - $500 to completely remove both trees and haul away!
