2 IMPORTANT THINGS!
1) CLEAR YOUR CALENDAR ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 from 7a - ??? YOUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOUR HELP! As many of you know, we are having a new playground installed and it will be delivered Thursday or Friday night (we'll need a few volunteers to offload the truck) and installed under the supervision of a professional playground installer! Remember: many hands make light work and this may be one of the biggest volunteer days in the last 5 years!
2) With all the rains we WERE having, we noticed their was quite a bit of trash accumulation in the lake. Remember, all the trash you see on the Blvd, streets, and park area will be dumped (by design, unforunately) in our lake via our culvert drainage system. Most likely it's people who are passing through who choose to through debris from their car, as I can't believe a resident would intentionally litter there own neighborhood. Ultimately, it's the innocent birds, ducks, turtles and fish that pay the price, as soda, tobacco, sports drinks, foil wrappers and other detritus get mixed into our lake and settle on the surface and bottom. Below is a cell phone picture I took recently...
